ABOUT KATHY
A Passionate and Professional Pianist
Kathy has played the piano for over 16 years and has learnt a large and varied repertoire. A recent graduate, Kathy studied music at the University of Surrey and maintained high marks in her performance examinations. She was awarded a scholarship for dedicated and talented players in her final year, reflecting her hard work throughout her studies. Prior to this, she completed all ABRSM Piano Performance examinations, culminating with a distinction at Grade 8.
In 2016, Kathy began teaching the piano. Since then, she developed a real passion for sharing her love of music and has inspired students of all ages and abilities. Kathy's lessons are engaging, tailored for each student and their abilities, and holds nurturing a love for music at the heart of all her teaching. She has taught both students who want to take exams and those who learn for pleasure, and can also teach music theory. Teaching is something Kathy truly enjoys, and this comes across in all the lessons she teaches.

Kathy has accompanied musicians from beginner to degree and diploma level for ABRSM exams, rehearsals, and performances. She has accompanied singers, instrumentalists, and large groups such as choirs and bands. Her on-stage presence has helped other musicians feel calm under pressure; an invaluable part of accompanying.

Alongside her studies, Kathy has performed in local venues in Wiltshire and Surrey as a soloist and accompanist. Kathy believes that music and its education should be accessible for all, and has dedicated her time volunteering in music groups at local libraries and nursing homes.
